Prime Time

Primetime: The Best Minutes of Your Day. Of course, we're talking about our personal time with God. Most Christians want to commit themselves to having regular times of prayer and meditation alone with God, but for one reason or another, find it difficult. In this series, we are going learn together how we can experience an exciting and nourishing time with our Lord that is doable. So don’t miss out

You Can Do This!

We are beginning a sermon series entitled Primetime: The Best Minutes of Your Day. Of course, I’m talking about our personal time with God.

Most Christians that I have known have wanted to commit themselves to having regular times of prayer and meditation alone with God. However, I have also found that most Christians don’t.

In this message, we are going to talk about how we can make this activity a regular part of our day. We are going to learn together how we can experience an exciting and nourishing time with our Lord that is doable. So don’t miss out.

You can do this.

Too Mysterious, Too Difficult, Too Complicated?

After you’ve lived life for awhile, you begin to understand that life is just too big for us to handle. It’s too difficult, and it’s too complex. That is why God gave us His book. Contained in it, is everything we need to know about how to make the right moral decisions. Sadly, so many don’t go to this book because they believe it is too hard to read, too mysterious, too difficult, and too complicated. They believe that only those who are spiritual giants will ever be able to get it.

However, God did not give us his Word just so only a few could understand it. It was written for all of God’s people. It was written for you.

In this message, and in our Small Groups, I am going to show you how you too can become a student of Bible. It won’t be difficult, and you’ll be surprised at how easily you can become someone who knows how to read and understand God’s Word.

The One Thing You Must Do To Make Church Matter

Irresistible or Irrelevant? Unfortunately, many people choose the second word to describe church. Part of the problem is we often don’t view church as a movement of the people of God to transform our world.

Instead, we often think of church as an hour (or so!) a week when we have a sing and sit time. Too often, it’s difficult to connect what happens on Sunday morning to any life change on Monday morning. No wonder many people feel that church is irrelevant!

What if our gatherings each week were more about encouraging and motivating one another to take up the mission that God invites us to join? What if there was one thing we could do to make what happens on Sunday impact Monday?

Fortunately, there is. As with many things that Jesus invites us to, the answer is simple yet challenging. And that’s what we will be discussing in this message.

You’ve Got The Power!

You have more power than you think. The New Testament writer James tells us that the prayers of a righteous person are very effective and accomplish much (James 5:16b](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+5%3A16b&version=NIV&interface=print)). I don’t really understand all the dynamics of prayer. It is a mysterious activity, while at the same time, it is a powerful one.

In this message we’ll talk about how to experience powerful prayer, and in our small groups throughout the week, we’ll be learning how to do it.
