Goals

Goal setting is a useful and necessary part of life. The question is not whether you should set goals but rather, how do you select the right ones. And that is just what the Bible is all about.

GOALS- Worship

Everyone sets goals. Some set a goal to make more money. Some set a goal to get more rest. Some set a goal to break a habit while others set a goal to start one.

Goal setting is a useful and necessary part of life. The question is not whether you should set goals but rather, how do you select the right ones. And that is just what the Bible is all about. It teaches us how to set the right goals in life. So this Sunday, I am starting a sermon series called “GOALS.” I will be talking about how we can set the right life-goals and avoid the ones that are just a waste of time.

To reinforce the theme, I am asking you to wear your football jersey each Sunday during this series. Wear it and you’ll better understand why on Sunday.

Goals - Outreach

Have you ever wondered why you are here? I don’t mean why you exist, but why you are here.

  • Why are you in your present physical location?
  • Why are you on planet earth?
  • Why are you in your city?
  • Why are you in your neighborhood, office cubical, ship, or school?

I mean, you could be anywhere right? But you are not anywhere; you are here. Why here?

In this message, we’ll talk about why God has placed you where he has placed you. Knowing this makes sense out of life.

Goals - Active Fellowship

We’ve never been so connected and yet have felt so alone.

With all the technological ways to interact and communicate with one another, one would think that loneliness is a thing of the past. In spite of all this connectedness, we live in growing isolation. Few have deep life-long friendships. If we were in deep trouble, few of us have anyone, outside of our family, who we know would drop everything and rush to our side. We’d like a friend like that, but that’s not a reality in our life.

Friends, this is not the way God wants us to live.

God created you for community. You were made to not just live alongside others, but to be connected to them. In this message, we are going to discuss God’s call to community and discover how to make this a reality in your life.

Goals - Spiritual Fitness

Church attendance, by itself, is no guarantee of spiritual fitness. In fact, claiming Christ as your savior doesn’t ensure that we will be healthy spiritually. What then will help us deepen our relationship with God?

In this message, we are going to look at three truths about spiritual workouts and look at a spiritual workout routine that will help us grow spiritually stronger.

Goals: Serve

As you consider your game plan for the year and your life, consider Jesus’ final goal for His twelve disciples.

Jesus consistently taught that His followers would serve others. Jesus reminded his followers that a disciple is not greater than his teacher. And since Jesus came to serve and not to have others serve him, his disciples must also be willing to help others.

In this week’s message, we’ll explore what it looks like to be a “servant of the Lord” in our current culture.
