reNEW

Over time, things fall apart. Cars need repairing, kitchens need remodeling, and streets need repaving. And what is true in the physical world, is true with the things unseen. If we don’t pay attention to our relationships, they will degrade. If we don’t pay attention to our souls, they will decay. God affirms this in his Word when he says that all creation is deteriorating and needs renewing. In this series, we will discuss the unseen and seen things in our lives that God wants to reNEW!

reNEW Our Hearts

Over time, things fall apart. Cars need repairing, kitchens need remodeling, and streets need repaving. And what is true in the physical world, is true with the things unseen.

If we don’t pay attention to our relationships, they will degrade. If we don’t pay attention to our souls, they will decay. God affirms this in his Word when he says that all creation is deteriorating and needs renewing.

This week, we will begin a new series entitled reNEW. In this series, we will discuss the unseen and seen things in our lives that God wants to reNEW!

Renew Our Hearts for the Next Generation

We’ve started a major new series at Tab where we are looking at how to rediscover our passion and power to reach the next generation.

Interestingly, the opening of Luke’s Gospel echoes the last words of the Old Testament in Malachi. You can check out the passages here. In these passages, we see God’s heart for children and their families. What if our greatest opportunity to make the good news of Jesus more fully known starts with how we resource and reach parents and kids together?

In this message, we discover how God is calling us all, from singles to empty nesters, to join in with Him in renewing our heart for the next generation.

Renew Our Passion for Sharing the Good News

Passions are fickle in their nature. Passions can wane. They can smolder. They can burn out altogether. Or they can be reNEWED.

Sharing the Gospel with others has long been a passion of Tabernacle Church, one that we should regularly rekindle in our personal lives and our church.

The call of Jesus to “go and makes disciples” is a call to passionate evangelism. Only He can fan the flames of our spirit to give us a burning desire to bring the light of the Gospel to our loved ones and our neighbors.

Renew Our Minds

35,000. According to one phycological study, that’s how many decisions a human makes every day. That’s almost 1,500 decisions every hour, 25 decisions every minute, which averages out to a having to make a decision about every other second.

We dedicate about half our lives to making decisions, so we better be good at it.

That is why we will talk about reNEWing our minds in this message. We need to be right-headed about the thousands of decisions we will make each and every day of our lives. Fortunately, God promises to give his people the minds that it will take to make great decisions, so don’t miss Sunday sermon as we discover his plan for reNEWing our minds.

Renew Your Attitude

When I was in high school, I use to have a teacher who would regularly say to his students, “You need an attitude check.” But it’s not only teenagers who can have bad attitudes. Everyone can have them. Attitudes about our marriage, our work, our church, all can all grow sour over time.

So, what do you do with a bad attitude? And, how do you correct it?

In this message, we will discover from God’s Word how to get a new attitude. Perhaps we’ll even close with the Patti LaBelle song, “I’ve Got A New Attitude.”

Ok, we won’t do that, but many of us can walk away well on our way to getting one.
