The child of an Airforce family, I was raised in Washington, D.C. I graduated from Norfolk State University and earned my Master of Divinity degree in 1983 from Capital Bible Seminary in MD.

In 1973 I joined Faith Community Church and began to train for ministry. Later I worked as an instructor at Washington Bible College. In 1988 I became the pastor of the Faith Community Church and then, the Pastor of the Urban Community Church of Norfolk. In 2016 I joined the staff of Tabernacle Church as the Associate Pastor of Outreach.

I recently completed my term serving on the Norfolk Public School Board and continue to serve on the boards of the Union Missions and Child Evangelism Fellowship.

My wife Shirley and I have four children and one granddaughter.

When I'm Not Working:

You'll probably find me playing the clarinet or performing with local orchestras.

Books You'll Find on My Side Table:

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen and David Copperfield by Charles Dickens.

If the TV's on:

I might be watching PBS Masterpiece Theater.
