Membership

Membership is a deeper commitment for those who feel like Tab is their home. We see it as a covenant relationship which has benefits and responsibilities. We have an official process that is overseen by the Elder board and you can apply at any time in the Fall or Spring. We hope you will consider including Tab as your official church home and community.

Membership FAQ's

1. What is church membership?

Membership at Tab Church is recognition of a mutual commitment between the member and the church. It is a public acknowledgement of a person’s decision to commit themselves primarily to God, and then to a specific group of His people (Church) to achieve a unified mission.

2. How do I become a member?

There are three steps to become a member of Tab Church:

1. Read and complete a membership form (this includes our constitution, FAQ's, Core values and theology) and submit it to Sarah Hall.
2. Attend a membership class.
3. Meet with a Tab Elder to share your faith testimony and ask any questions.

3. What is expected of members?

At Tab Church, we believe that members are fully-committed to

  • Worshipping: Pursuing Jesus in their daily lives
  • Community: Encouraging fellow-church members in their walk with the Lord
  • Serving: Giving of your time in a God-given capacity
  • Praying: Praying for the church and it’s ministries
  • Giving: Financially giving to Tab Church and it's ministries

4. What if I don't want to officially join as a Tab Church member?

That’s fine! We consider everyone who shows up regularly to be part of our church family and membership is not a pre-requisite to join in the life of the community. The only aspects of church life that our by-laws and church laws restrict to official members are voting in church elections and serving on elected leadership teams.

5. What if I want to stop being a member?

People leave churches for many reasons, practical and personal. It is helpful to know when a person wants to end their membership, and to what extent they want to remain in relationship with the church, such as receiving church communications. Ending your time at Tab Church may be recognized with a letter or email to our Church Administrator.
